Renewal Retreat
A spring yoga & creativity retreat in Spain
Suryalila, Andalusia, Spain
A week to pause, reconnect, and welcome the energy of spring.
Join us for our third Renewal Retreat, at Suryalila in Andalusia, Spain.
Beginning on the Spring Equinox, when day and night meet and the light begins to return, this 7-night retreat marks the turning from winter into spring.
Through yoga, meditation, creativity, nourishing food, and deep rest, we’ll create space to slow down, reconnect, and gather energy for the brighter season ahead.
The retreat follows the natural rhythm of the season: honouring the inwardness of winter, while beginning to turn towards the light, growth and energy of spring. Like the natural world emerging from its winter cocoon, we create space for something new to take shape.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Suryalila, the retreat brings together movement, meditation, creativity, nourishing food, nature, and deep rest, creating a gentle rhythm between restoration and renewal.
There is space to slow down and listen, to reconnect with your body and energy, and to reflect on where you are and what feels important now. And as the days begin to lengthen, there is also an invitation to look ahead — to gather your energy and consider what you want to move towards in the season ahead.
“The Renewal Retreat was a tonic for the body and mind. I arrived burnt out from winter and work and left refreshed, renewed and ready for spring”
— Nicola (2026 Renewal Retreat)

“From the greeting on day one we were supported and surrounded by positive, affirming energy. Bridget is an excellent teacher and Meritta ensured that everyone was looked after and all her 'chickens' were happy.. one of the most life-enhancing things I have done. The benefits will continue long after I leave Suryalila and will sustain me until the next retreat.”

Daily Yoga & Deep Rest in Andalusia
Our practices explore the different qualities of energy in the body — from movement, breath and meditation that awaken and encourage energy to flow, to slower practices that ground, soften and restore.
Across the week, we’ll work with:
Morning meditation & yoga — beginning with Kundalini-inspired meditation and reflection, before moving into Hatha/Vinyasa practice to awaken the body, breath and energy.
Evening Yin & Restorative — slower practices to ground, release tension and bring softness and ease into the body.
Breathwork & meditation — practices to connect with the breath, cultivate awareness and work with the body’s energy.
Yoga Nidra — guided deep rest for the body and mind.
Morning Pages & journalling — quiet time to clear the mind, reflect and give thoughts and ideas space to emerge.
mindful making & creativity
Throughout the week, we'll gather for gentle creativity sessions led by Meritta, founder of Mise Tusa. These sessions invite us to slow down, work with our hands and rediscover the joy of creating—without expectation or perfection.
Sessions have included
Jewellery making using natural materials
Lavender eye pillow making to take home
Gentle hand stitching and needle felting
Seasonal painting and nature-inspired crafts
Time to chat, laugh and create together
Moments of quiet presence in the sunshine or gathered around the fire
No artistic experience is needed—just curiosity and an openness to enjoy the process.

Absolutely. This retreat is open to all levels, whether you're completely new to yoga or have an established practice. Every class offers options so you can move in a way that feels supportive for your body. The focus isn't on achieving advanced poses but on reconnecting with yourself through mindful movement.

The Spring Equinox marks the beginning of spring, when day and night are in perfect balance. It's traditionally seen as a time of renewal, growth and fresh beginnings. Gathering at this turning point in the year offers a beautiful opportunity to pause, reflect and step into the season feeling grounded, energised and open to what's ahead.

Yes—and many people do. Solo travellers often tell us it was one of the best decisions they made. We intentionally create a warm and welcoming environment where meaningful connections happen naturally while still giving you space to enjoy time alone whenever you need it. Once retreat guest said “you bring together strangers and make us real friends”
-
Our practices blend gentle Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, Kundalini-inspired practices, meditation and breathwork. Rather than pushing your body, the intention is to help you slow down, regulate your nervous system and reconnect with yourself
-
Throughout the retreat, we'll enjoy a number of mindful creativity sessions led by Meritta, founder of Mise Tusa. Together, we'll slow down and create in a relaxed, welcoming space—whether that's outdoors in the sunshine or gathered by the fire. Past sessions have included jewellery making, lavender eye pillows, hand stitching, needle felting and painting. No experience is needed—just come as you are and enjoy the process.

Meala Soul was created to offer spaces where people can slow down, reconnect and return to themselves. Our retreats are intentionally small and thoughtfully curated, blending yoga, mindfulness, creativity, nourishing food and meaningful connection. We believe transformation doesn't come from doing more—it comes from creating the space to simply be.

Suryalila is a place that holds a special place in our hearts. My mom, Meritta, and I both completed our yoga teacher training there, and it has become a true home away from home. I also lived and worked there for one year as the marketing manager for the retreat centre, so we know the space, the team and the local area intimately. It's a place we return to time and time again, and we're so excited to share it with you.

March is one of the most peaceful and beautiful times to experience southern Spain. In Andalusia, the countryside begins to bloom, the days grow warmer and longer, and there's a sense of fresh possibility in the air. It's the perfect season to enjoy yoga outdoors, nourishing food, nature walks and slower mornings before the busier summer months arrive.
Frequently Asked Questions
“When Meritta sent me the invite to attend her's and Bridget's yoga retreat Meala Soul, I jumped at the opportunity as it was taking place abroad and in January. For years I had been wanting to be out of Ireland in January and here it was. 2024 had been a full and heavy year and I needed an escape. Well, by day 2, I knew that I had found the perfect escape, a place that I see myself returning over and over again. Suryalila ticks all the boxes for my busy life head and tired body. A truly wonderful down to earth, guilt-free escape. And the food is beautiful, never did I think that vegetarian food could be so varied and tasty. Suryalila - heaven on earth. Thank you Vidya for following your dream, and thank you Bridget and Meritta for organising this mind-blowingly grounding, enjoyable, creative and releasing retreat.”
